Reusable produce bags have been on my todo list for about a year now, but frankly, I just never got around to them. I take my own grocery bags to the store and farmers' market, and will generally just stuff as much produce as possible into a single plastic bag, or just go without. Not anymore!
I was at IKEA a few weeks ago, and scored a twin sized duvet/pillowcase set for $4.99. Not so cute as a duvet cover (way too small/busy of a print, hence the closeout sale), but SUPER CUTE as produce bags!!
The fabric is fairly lighweight, so I reinforced the drawstring openings with bias tape. I eeked five bags out of one of the pillowcases (four larger out of the main pillowcase, and one smaller from the tuck-innie-flap-thingie), and still have an entire duvet left to do whatever with -- more bags, cloth napkins,... possibilities abound!
