We had a fine time at the fair. It was the first time for all of us, and though it was smaller that I anticipated, I'm really glad we made the effort to check it out. Miss H. liked all the animal exhibits, but especially loved the racing pigs, of all things. She was totally and completely transfixed the entire time! Even now, two days later, I will hear her randomly saying, "Go pigs, go!" to herself. Very cute.
As for me, the food was disappointing. The fried artichokes? Meh. The kettle corn? Meh. The giant turkey leg? Double meh. I should have tried the funnel cake (never had one before) but maybe will have to check that action out down at the Boardwalk one of these days. Funny, I live within spitting distance, practically, from the Boardwalk and have never actually been down there.
A couple of days ago I was in the vicinity of the Daiso store again, and swung in to see if there were any new bento supplies in stock. I picked up a few basic rice molds, and a small tamagoyaki pan to try my hand at some omelet love. Miss H. loves her eggies!
Oh,... and I just ordered some yarn at Knit Picks today! I was checking out my project queue on Ravelry and got inspired to start a new project for Miss H. So I still make crafty stuff, I swear! And I haven't forgotten about the destashing project either. My man has been traveling a bit and working long hours, so I just haven't had the time, between work and home, to get all my photos snapped and uploaded. But I will. I have some yarn up for sale on Ravelry, and actually have gotten a few nibbles that way. What an awesome resource!
Happy weekend!
