Yesterday we had sign language playgroup, so I packed Miss H. a little lunch in case we were waylaid with errands and such afterwards.
Brown rice mixed with furikake and studded with peas, Sungold cherry tomatoes, Korean chameh melon, tofu cubes and dried cranberries.
I'm really glad we had this along! We had a bank errand to run across town (finally getting rid of that huge jar of change rattling around in the back of the car!), and since we had lunch packed, ended up stopping at this great park for a little running around and al fresco dining. Although I got stung by a pesky little yellow jacket. On my pinky finger or all places. I smeared a little mud on it (a backwoods treatment my mama taught me) and called it good. It was a bit sore yesterday, but today, much better.
This afternoon we're heading to the county fair. It will be Miss H's first time -- I think she'll really like checking out the animals and seeing the frisbee dogs. I'm looking forward to snacking on some deep fried artichoke hearts, a Central Coast specialty,... yum.
