So it's been a while, hasn't it? We're still here, but not a lot of knitting / cooking / crafting going on in these parts, and not a ton of time to blog. I did, however, manage to check my Bloglines in time to make the Mailorder subscription window over at angry chicken. I even made the Pumpkin Spice cake from mailorder #4 this weekend:
VERY tasty. I highly recommend giving it a whirl if you have a minute. And if anyone can throw me a bone in regards to the secret word for mailorder #4, I'd be eternally grateful. I'm BEYOND riddle-challenged,...
Being a mama has been wonderful so far. Hana is great, and a total delight,...
We've been having a lot of fun the past six months, and are about to embark on a new adventure -- solid food. Her high chair should be here on Wednesday, and as soon as she's totally over a little cold she caught last week (her very first one), we're good to go. I'm planning on cooking / making all her food fresh, organic only, so we'll see how that pans out. It seems straight forward enough -- cook it, puree it, thin it, freeze it in ice cube trays. I was recommended a book -- Super Baby Food that goes into detail, ad nauseum almost, on how to make your baby's food -- and I think it will be helpful.
I've also started back to work in earnest this month. We were very lucky to find a great childcare provider who comes to our house a few mornings a week to watch Hana while I go hide in my "office," to furiously type away. It works out really well since Hana is still breastfeeding, and I can just take a quick break when she's hungry, feed her, then go back to work. This working from home part-time arrangement is a bit of a experiment, so we're hoping it goes well over the next month or two so I can continue with it going forward.
Hope all's well with everyone out there! I'm really going to try and update more frequently -- it's embarassing, yo.
*hola jalapeno is the title of Hana's current favorite book. Catchy, isn't it??
