So I managed to drag my headachy self over the hill to the meetup in Saratoga last night. I actually accomplished some knitting, enjoyed some pleasant conversation, and only bought one $4 pattern leaflet. Yay me!
But then I met Julia. She's working on a gorgeous Clapotis in a yummy handpainted cashmere. And oh no, somehow the cashmere handpainter's contact info lands in my knitting bag! So this morning I happen check the site out and her (Axelle at Two Pointy Sticks) work is great -- very Koigu-esque but cashmere decadent, baby! Axelle also puts together a super fun and funky cashmere scarf kit -- sold EXCLUSIVELY at Woolplay in Haddonfield, NJ. Oh, and it costs $105. And since Woolplay doesn't really have an online presence, who in their right mind would buy a $105 cashmere scarf kit sight unseen? Not me! But oh (again),... Haddonfield, NJ, is only fourteen short miles away from Philly. Where I will be in two weeks for business. With an entire afternoon free. To make my way to Haddonfield. And buy a scary expensive scarf kit.
Oh YES! I love it when the improbable becomes feasible. Merry Christmas to me!
