Now that's a good question!
Work trip to Philly was successful, but way too short and totally exhausting.
Thanksgiving was at my parents -- so yummy yum yum goes without saying. Even though I had to spend a good hunk of time working, it was great to be in the bosom of my family. I'll miss them at Christmas -- my first EVER away from home, if you can believe it! -- while the new husband and I are kicking it with his fam.
Back home now, and running like crazy at work. BIG, LOOMING deadline on COB Monday.
Being knocked up has its ups and downs. I'm feeling much better, but still tire easily, and STILL am dealing with the nausea AND this icky taste in my mouth after eating -- blehk. However, this hasn't prevented me from packing on almost 20 pounds already!! Holy moly. Very exciting, although it did give me total sci-fi horror movie flashbacks for a while.
Knitting is progressing, albeit slowly. The man socks are coming along. Only three more rounds to go before I start knitting off the edge, releasing the Fir Cone Square from its blobby-ness.
And I started the Diamond Fantasy shawl last week, but decided that I hate the yarn I bought. I dug through my Koigu stash and just wasn't feeling the love, so I bought some Cherry Tree Hill Supersock thinking that it would be a good substitute for the Koigu. Oh HELLO,... big mistake! It just doesn't even come close to the softness and drape of the Koigu. There's almost a waxy, stiff feel to the yarn. I even blocked it a bit, thinking it would soften up with a wash, but it didn't help. Crap. So it's off to the frog pond, and back on the hunt for some Koigu (or maybe some Lorna's Laces?),...
But I did find some cute fabric to back the Wild Stripes blankie.
Pretty freakin' happy!
I'm also collecting some fabric for a rag-edged quilt. I haven't been sewing much lately, but I think this will be a quick, cute project. Cowboys are cool,...
