It looks like rain today, so likely the garden wedding isn't going to happen. It'll be a little cozy / standing room only inside for the ceremony, but who cares? Especially when the venue is as cool as this:
My mom is very cute. I unexpectedly spent the past four days in the city with her doing the full on "ladies of leisure" thing. Not a bad lifestyle if you can swing it! We stayed on Union Square for prime shopping access, lunched in the Rotunda at Neiman's a couple of times, and even caught a show (Mambo Kings -- just OK, unfortunately. The dance numbers were great, but too many moody solos slowed down the pace, and the way the story unfolded was pretty weak). Ate way too much good food, spent money a little lavishly, but overall, a great few days with my ma before all the wedding craziness begins.
Oh yeah, baby. I half assed blocked it, wrapped it up and gifted it away to my ma. She claims to like it, but we'll see if we ever see it again!
So what next, what next? I started a new stole out of the Folk Shawls book -- Kyoto -- in orange KidSilk Haze. And over the next week I plan on swatching for the Rebecca wrap cardi and my guy's Na Craga as possible projects to take on the honeymoon. I'm also going to try and make it over the CommunKnity this week to score some Koigu or Cherry Tree Hill yarn for a Shapely Shawlette prezzie. Will I get much knitting done sitting on a Costa Rican beach? Who knows! But not being knitting prepared is NOT an option, am I right?
