I'm still sickie today and didn't go into work. I spent the day lounging, drinking juice and knitting a bit.
Here's the Clap:
It's silk garden (#84), as if you didn't already know that! The little bit of raveling on the far right corner was my lazy girl swatch -- I dropped stitches prematurely so I could wash and block a bit to check drape and such before getting too far into the project. It worked pretty well!
And here's the LLStole:
It's inching along, literally. I was hugely delusional thinking I could have it done by Christmas, that's for sure, but what can I say, I'm an optimist.
And thanks to everyone for their comments on whether / what shawl I should / shouldn't do for the wedding thing. I hear what everyone is saying about keeping it simple and not taking on too big of a project to add to the pre-wedding stress, but I think I may start the flirty ruffles anyways. I really like the shawl, and if it ends up going well with the dress I pick out, great, and if not, then I still have a really cool shawl. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it -- until I change my mind, anyways!
I think Flirty Ruffles would be a great wedding shawl! Paired with a simple, yet elegant gown and you're ready to go. :)

That shawl will make a great wadrobe addition whether you wear it at the wedding ot not. I am going to start a lace shawl soon too. I think it will make a great wedding shower gift for my soon to be aunt. And I have to start it soon since I know lace will take me forever!

I'm not discouraging you on the project at all - I'm just saying. Look what you just wrote about being delusional re: finishing the LL stole! Knit the Flirty Ruffles, absolutely. But In case it turns out to be too much work before the wedding, have a backup. That's all.
I totally think the Flirty Ruffles is everything a shawl should be - big enough, drapey enough, gorgeous lace and of course the ruffle! Will look wonderful over a wedding dress or a gala opening night ball gown worn to the opera or a simple cotton dress. So Flirt away!
