Oy,... it finally came off the needles last night!
I still need to weave in a couple of ends and block her unmercilessly, but she done! She was an easy knit (though not quite as quick as I anticipated!), and the Silk Garden was great to work with. And I really came to appreciate the art of spit splicing -- no ends to weave in!!
And did ya notice the new leather chair the Clap is lounging upon? It arrived earlier this week with its ottoman and sofa friends in tow. I LOVE the color and style, but am a bit unhappy with the back cushions:
See how they're creased/wrinkly? I'm not sure if it's something that will rectify itself after the furniture is detraumatized from its shipping adventure or if I just need to take them out back and whack them into submission, but my guy is following up with our person at the furniture store to get the scoop. But this is my first new, real couch EVER, so pretty damn exciting regardless!
And if your new year's resolution has something to do with volunteerism or giving back, my knitting buddy Brooke forwarded me this link to knitting-specific charities (thanks Brooke!!). Spreading the knitting love is a good thing, no?? Have a great weekend!!
