That's the sound of me, bouncing off the walls. I've been wound a bit tight the past few days, particularly due to the house purchase stuff and with work beginning to ramp up again. You'd think I'd get tons of knitting done, but that hasn't been the case, dammit! All my projects right now require a bit of thinking, and that sounds so not interesting to me at the moment.
Last night, I did, however, manage to turn this:
Into this:
The mixer bowl -- which raises up and down -- wasn't staying up as well as it should, so I just HAD to try and fix it. Apparently there's a little plastic sleeve thingie (not the technical term, obviously!) on the inside of the stand that is cracked and needs replacement.
I also took all the receipts floating around my home and office and showed them who's boss:
But how about the knitting anyway?
Here's my pitiful progress on the second front of Dune:
And the mananita blob:
I've come to realize that I really like lace knitting. The part of my personality that balances my checkbook to the penny, loves jigsaw puzzles, and does little happy dances when my monster excel tables add up perfectly must influence this attraction. I even like the prep work:
Although I consider myself a visual person, sometimes charted lace graphs are more than my brain can handle -- those little left and right slanting symbols totally throw me into loopage! So for the mananita project I made enlarged copies of the written directions, cut them up, and pasted the directions for each row onto it's own index card. It's a great system!
Hi! :-)
Anything from Taiu yet?
Got some more Koigu in the mail the other day and want a poncho! :-)) I am really looking forward to starting it :-))
